Last night, a picture began spreading from shock sites through social media that supposedly showed Robin Williams' dead body. That picture predates the actor's death and is not authentic.

Web archives show the photo appeared online at least as early as 2006, when it was featured on a South American university's forensic pathology website. Furthermore, law enforcement has confirmed the picture is not of Williams, TMZ reports.

The fake death photo was included among the harassing messages trolls sent Zelda Williams late Tuesday night, compelling the late actor's daughter to delete her social media accounts.

"I'm sorry. I should've risen above," wrote Zelda on Twitter. "Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye."
